Description

It was in Monção and Melgaço that Alvarinho originated. Starting from the northernmost point of Portugal, always sheltered by the Peneda-Gerês National Park, the northernmost territory of Portugal stretches along the left bank of the Minho River, with Galicia on the other side, up to the Monte do Faro, which protects it from the Atlantic influence. Nature has always demarcated this territory, those who worked it have made the grape variety that reigns there grow in a house that seems to have been made to measure.  A valley surrounded by mountains marked by a patchwork of small parcels of Alvarinho that are treated as gardens by several families, most of whom, having other professional occupations, dedicate themselves to the vineyard at the end of the day and at weekends. World-renowned wines, the birthplace of the Alvarinho grape variety, a unique landscape and culture that you will get to know better along this route.
